Payment and Fees
Pocketride operates on a fee-based model meticulously crafted to ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing for its ride-hailing services. This model takes into account various factors such as the distance traveled, the duration of the ride, and the prevailing traffic conditions. By incorporating these variables, Pocketride aims to provide users with transparent and competitive pricing while maintaining the financial sustainability of its service.
To streamline the payment process and enhance user convenience, Pocketride partners with a reputable third-party payment service provider. Users are required to furnish valid payment details, including credit card information or other accepted payment methods, to facilitate secure and efficient transaction processing. This partnership not only ensures the security of users’ financial information but also enables seamless payment processing, enhancing the overall user experience.
By utilizing Pocketride’s services, users implicitly authorize the automatic deduction of ride costs from their designated payment method. This authorization encompasses all relevant charges, including base fares, distance surcharges, tolls, additional fees, and applicable taxes. Pocketride employs a transparent pricing structure, providing users with a comprehensive breakdown of ride expenses to promote clarity and transparency.
Upon the completion of each ride, users receive a detailed breakdown of the fare, offering insights into the various components contributing to the total cost. This breakdown includes a comprehensive overview of the base fare, distance traveled, duration of the ride, any additional surcharges or fees, and applicable taxes. By providing users with this level of detail, Pocketride seeks to build trust and confidence in its pricing methodology.
Pocketride maintains the flexibility to adjust its pricing framework and fee schedule in response to market dynamics and operational requirements. Any changes to pricing are communicated to users promptly through the Pocketride app or website, ensuring transparency and accountability. This proactive approach enables users to stay informed about potential adjustments to pricing, fostering a sense of trust and reliability in Pocketride’s service.
Users bear the responsibility of ensuring that they have sufficient funds in their designated payment channel to cover ride expenses. Failure to settle payment obligations in a timely manner may result in the suspension or termination of the user’s account, along with additional charges for outstanding or overdue balances. This requirement underscores the importance of financial responsibility and compliance with Pocketride’s payment policies.

Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the use of Pocketride’s services, including but not limited to the interpretation, validity, enforcement, or breach of these terms and conditions, both Pocketride and the user are obligated to seek resolution through arbitration, a method of alternative dispute resolution designed to provide an efficient and impartial means of settling disagreements outside of the traditional court system.
Arbitration proceedings will be conducted in accordance with the rules and procedures set forth in the Ontario Arbitration Act, ensuring a fair and transparent process for both parties involved. It is crucial to recognize that the arbitrator’s decision will be final and binding upon both parties, emphasizing the importance of careful consideration and presentation of evidence and arguments during the arbitration process. Each party shall bear their respective costs and expenses associated with the arbitration process, including but not limited to legal fees and arbitrator fees, unless the arbitrator determines otherwise based on the circumstances of the case.

In such instances, Pocketride reserves the right to pursue alternative legal remedies as deemed necessary to protect its interests and the integrity of its services.

Termination actions may be instigated in instances where users engage in behavior that is deemed violent, abusive, fraudulent, or illegal. Such actions may also be taken if users fail to comply with applicable laws and regulations or if they provide false or insufficient documentation, which undermines the reliability of Pocketride’s operations.
Furthermore, Pocketride retains the authority to terminate services if users are found to be involved in identity theft, misuse of the platform, or any other conduct that poses a threat to Pocketride’s reputation or disrupts its operations. These provisions are crucial for upholding the trustworthiness and effectiveness of the Pocketride platform.
Upon termination, users lose access to all Pocketride services, including the ability to book rides and access their user accounts. Pocketride may also pursue legal action against users who violate its terms and conditions, seeking appropriate remedies and damages as permitted by law. This underscores Pocketride’s commitment to maintaining a safe, reliable, and compliant environment for all users.
