Job Description:
As a Compliance Specialist at Pocketride, you will support the identification, implementation,
and monitoring of regulatory and internal compliance requirements across the organization.
This role plays a critical part in strengthening operational integrity, risk management, policy
adherence, and regulatory readiness as Pocketride continues to grow.
This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, research-driven, and passionate
about legal, regulatory, and risk frameworks in a startup environment.
Key Responsibility:
● Assist in identifying and tracking applicable transportation, employment, privacy, and corporate
regulations relevant to Pocketride’s operations
● Support the development and implementation of internal compliance checklists, SOPs, and
documentation.
● Contribute to risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies related to operational and
legal compliance.
● Support IP readiness initiatives, including documenting IP assets and contributing to early-stage
strategies for protecting proprietary content and ideas.
● Monitor updates in laws and industry practices to ensure Pocketride stays ahead of regulatory
changes.
● Help prepare compliance documentation for partnerships, investors, and HR onboarding
practices.
● Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Tech, and Product teams to align compliance efforts with
company goals.
Preferred Qualification
● Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law, Business, Public Policy, Human Resources, or a
related field.
● Knowledge or interest in compliance frameworks, regulatory environments, and IP readiness is a
strong asset.
● Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
● Strong research and analytical thinking.
● Comfortable working independently in a startup environment with evolving priorities.
● Bonus: Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR), transportation regulations,
or intellectual property
